2016-2017 (ISC)² OUTSTANDING OFFICIAL CHAPTER AWARDNorth America Region
Local chapters play an essential role in the achievement of the (ISC)² vision of inspiring a safe and secure cyber world. This year, (ISC)² would like to recognize the valuable contributions of individual (ISC)² chapters as they aspire to connect local cybersecurity professionals together to educate them on the latest threats and new technologies while earning CPEs, and inspire others to advance cybersecurity awareness through public service initiatives, and ultimately make their local community more safe and secure. The (ISC)² Outstanding Official Chapter Award, NAR will be presented to an official chapter of (ISC)² in the North America Region that best promotes the vision and mission of (ISC)² of inspiring a safe and secure cyber world. An outstanding chapter will have demonstrated a well-rounded offering of activities and services to benefit its members and affiliates, as well as made a significant contribution to the profession and local community through the core focus areas of the (ISC)² Chapter Program of connect, educate, inspire and secure. Below are examples of the activities and services of (ISC)² Chapters: Eligibility Requirements & Rules For an (ISC)² Chapter to be eligible to submit for the (ISC)² Outstanding Chapter Award, it must be in good standing with (ISC)². This means there are no outstanding requirements due, nor are there any concerns or issues being addressed. For more details about the chapter in good standing status, refer to page 19 of the (ISC)² Official Chapter Handbook found here. Chapters self-nominate for the award by completing an online form with activity details pertaining to the core focus areas, as listed above. Details submitted should be based on the time frame of July 1, 2016 until June 30, 2017. The form should be completed in its entirety and submitted to chapters@isc2.org no later than midnight Eastern Time on Sunday, August 13, 2017. A nomination judging committee will be assembled to review all submissions and select the finalists. The winner will be announced and honored during the Americas Information Security Leadership Awards (AM-ISLA) at the 7th annual (ISC)² Security Congress in Austin, Texas on Tuesday, September 26.
